Unsolicited Play Calling
Nobody asked. That is the first thing to establish. No one on the coaching staff, no one on the field, no one in the press box, no one on the sideline called a timeout to get this person’s input. And yet, from row seven of the bleachers, with a medium soft pretzel and a very strong opinion about gap assignments, the play call was delivered. Loudly. With follow-up analysis. And a second opinion nobody asked for either.
The unsolicited play caller has been doing this for years. They have a system. The system has not been formally reviewed by any coaching staff. This has not stopped them.
